Dr. Matt Motteler

Dr. Motteler’s clinical training includes a six-month externship at Duke Eye Center in Durham, NC, followed by a one-year postdoctoral residency at the W.G. Hefner Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Salisbury, NC. During his training, he gained extensive experience in the diagnosis and management of ocular conditions, including dry eye, glaucoma, and macular degeneration.

Dr. Motteler is a recognized consultant and speaker in the fields of contact lenses and dry eye. His expertise and commitment to dry eye care have been recognized with both the Eye Eco Outstanding Dry Eye Practice Award and the Eye Eco Elite Dry Eye Practice Award.

Dr. Motteler is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and a member of the American Optometric Association, North Carolina State Optometric Society, Denver Area Business Association, Lincoln County Chamber of Commerce, and Denver/Lake Norman Rotary.

Outside of the office, Dr. Motteler enjoys mountain biking, hiking, sailing, and spending time with his wife, Leslie, and their two sons, Tyler and Andrew. He also has a passion for mission work and has participated in eye-care mission trips to Honduras, Nicaragua, and Mexico, where he provided eye examinations to underserved communities.

Dr. Motteler especially enjoys building lasting relationships with his patients and seeing them return year after year. He welcomes both established and new patients at our Denver location.
